  • Become a lifeguard this summer! Santa Barbara County Parks is hiring lifeguards for beaches and pools.  Applicants must be at least 16 years old.   • Today, the Board of Supervisors approved the appointment of Lisa Plowman as the County's next Director of Planning and Development. Plowman has more than 19 years of experience assisting private and nonprofit developers with land use entitlement and planning processes. Read Press Release.

  • Highway 154 remains closed from the Lake Cachuma State Recreation Area to Paradise Road following a series of winter storms which resulted in a blocked culvert near Lake Cachuma. However, those wishing to visit Lake Cachuma may do so by traveling Hwy. 154 from the Santa Ynez area.
