Lead-Based Paint

Environmental Health Services receives a number of requests for information and assistance related to lead-based paint and associated soil contamination. We have developed this webpage as a source of information to assist the community.

Environmental Health Services does not provide lead-based paint testing, blood lead testing or perform blood-lead investigations.

The California Department of Public Health, Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Branch is a children's environmental health program offering multi-layered solutions to this complex problem.

The U.S. EPA has published a helpful brochure titled "Protect Your Family from Lead in Your Home".

Environmental Health Services' Site Mitigation Unit provides regulatory oversight for voluntary cleanups of sites with lead contaminated soil under California Health and Safety Code Section 101480 et. seq.
